Our Story
Ellie Cate's emerged from two friends' love for one precious little girl, Eleanor Catherine Graesser. Longtime friends Kristen Vacek and Ann Graesser had always dreamed of starting a business, but the true inspiration did not come until Ellie's arrival. Ann could not find stylish accessories to match her nursery that were cuddly and well made, and Kristen couldn't find that perfect gift to give Ellie upon her christening. So, necessity met creativity and Ellie Cate's was born!
Ann started out making a slipcover for her nursing pillow. After realizing that she could make sweet, soft covers at home that were not available in stores, she could not help but tell her friends about it. It was not long before she was making them for family, friends and neighbors to give as shower gifts and to use for her own children. From there she began making tag blankets, hoodie towels, bibs, nap mat covers and more!
Kristen made her first rocking chair for Ellie and she has not stopped painting since. She shortly began making personalized rockers and stools to match her friends' and family's nurseries and children's rooms. Her rockers have been given as shower gifts and birthday presents and even sold in a charity auction. She can also make time out chairs, naughty stools or anything else you can think of!
